Day 1 in Taiwan (Taipei):
We (my mom, jes and i) arrive at Taipei at around 6pm (same as in Sg) then we head to hotel (Lilai Hotel) at Ximending. We went to Shilin Night Market for dinner.... other than XXL Chicken and mala steamboat (there is a long queue and jes & I are both sick).... we tried all the food that we were told of.... Smelly Tofu, Oyster omelette, soups with squid, small biscuit in big biscuit, white bitter gourd drinks etc. all in 1 night…. Lol…. Scary huh?
Day 2 in Taiwan (Taipei):
We visited the weekend markets (both flower and jade markets) and took lots of photos in the flower market.

Then we went to a high end club for BBQ seafood…. It is beside its own pool and also near a shallow river for people to frolic in.

After a sumptuous lunch, we rent a taxi (lots of thanks to Heidi for Mr Yang’s contact. I highly recommend Mr Meeky Yang as a taxi/tour guide for Taipei to all my frens). He drove us to Yeliou (it feels great there, lots of sand and sea… wind and beautiful rock formation), Jiufen Old Street (tried the ice-cream in popiah), Yingyang sea (supposedly there is 2 colors in the water, divided by 1 single line), Keelung Night Market before sending us back to our hotel.

(do u see the fairy's sandal?)

Day 3 in Taiwan (Hualian):
We took the early train to Hualian (around 3 hrs) and then book a taxi there to go sight seeing…. Not so good, this taxi driver… we went to Taroko Gorge… its huge granite rocks all around, clear water gushing in the valleys or granite water (a grey mixture). We climb up a mountain to visit a temple…. And then to a place where they dry fish…. Its call Mando Wave or sth…
What is so interesting about this day, is the return trip to Taipei… we didn’t get a seat on the train… so we set just at the in-between, on the floor and chatted the whole trip away. (Taipei was facing heavy and constant rain this day)
(all photos are with Jes.)
Day 4 in Taiwan (Taipei): my mom went to their Taipei branch of her company that day… so its just jes and i. we took the metro to Danshui, we then took the bus to Fisherman Wharf and then to Danshui Old Street. Pictures taking at the Wharf and lots of shopping at Danshui Old Street, where I got my white Birkenstock…. Other colors are out of size…. Sad….i was looking for a green one… haiz… but well its cheaper there, around $60. after that we went to Wufenpu, the clothing wholesale market…. Bought some more tee shirts… then we went to meet my mom and her frens at New York, New York, for dinner at some restaurant and then we went to Taipei101. the lift travels from 5th to 89th floor in 37seconds!!!! Haha.. cool… so we took some pictures and then back to hotel.
(check out the $5 shades!!)

Day 5 & 6 in Taiwan (Alishan- Taipei):
We are so lucky, we got tickets to Alishan…. It was all fully booked but we managed to get the tickets thr a tour agency…. However the train ride up the mountain was not in operation because of the bad weather…. We took train to Chaiyi (another 3 hrs, and we tried their lunch boxes, they were great!) and then bus up to Alishan. It’s quite cold…. Alishan is I think the tallest mountain in Taiwan…. The morning there, we took a train ride to see the sunrise… but due to heavy clouds… we didn’t get to see the sun jump up over the peaks… in the day, we took a jungle trail kinda thing to see their spirit tree etc. it’s a really cool and different view from the ones of yeliou and taroko…. We got back, making a stop at chaiyi for their famous turkey rice and also the ruroufan. Bought square biscuits.
(the train up alishan & to see sunrise)

(see the heart?)

(see the man's face?)

We got back to our hotel and then made a quick trip to Miramar Entertainment Centre for the Ferris Wheel…. Then we missed the last shuttle bus back to Jian Tan, so we waited for a bus… by the time we reach hotel, it was late. We got cup noodles from the Carrefour near Miramar to bring back to Sg. presently….. 4 out of 8 are left.

(Many places in Taiwan were flooding these 2 days…. For example Hualien and Taizhong, we also got news that a typhoon is coming to Taiwan… most prob will reach on the 16 Aug, the day we are flying back to Sg.)
Last Day in Taiwan (Taipei)
We went to Sun Zhong Sun Memorial… they call him the country’s father. And then we went back to Ximending for Ah Zong Mian Xian, walk around Ximending 1 last time (we did so almost everyday) and head to airport…. Reach Sg at 10.30pm. Cool!

I know this is sketchy…. Im letting the photos do the talking… if u wan more info… catch me when im free… haha… also, more photos can be found on Facebook…. So yup.
